Liverpool warned before Aston Villa and Man City trips: 'You can get caught out'

Gary Neville has warned Liverpool they “can get caught out” against Aston Villa and Manchester City ahead of a “big week” in the Premier League title race.

Liverpool responded to Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Leicester by beating Wolves 2-1 on Sunday thanks to first-half goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.

The result restored Arne Slot’s side seven-point lead at the top of the table, but they face two difficult away fixtures this week.

First up is a trip to Villa Park on Wednesday night followed by a visit to the Etihad Stadium to face the reigning champions of England.

After watching the Reds concede a last minute equaliser in the Merseyside derby away at Everton and then “just get over the line” at home to Wolves, Neville believes Arsenal can take some encouragement.

"I think it was a good day for Liverpool," he said on The Gary Neville Podcast. "I even think it was half a good day for Arsenal, with Liverpool, who just got over the line against a Wolves team I thought was fantastic, having Aston Villa away and Man City away coming up.
